There are many a time you complicate your life by wantonly indulging in habits that destroys your mental peace.

Problems are part and parcel of your life. Every person in this world has some sort of a problem. You too must live admist multiple problems. You have no other go than to accept problems as part of your life.

But you complicate your problems so much so that you feel you are the only one suffering in the whole world. You invaribaly think that everyone are enjoying their life, while you are the only one feeling wretched and miserable.

You further complicate your life by feeling that everyone are out to destroy your life.

You are wrong.

Others are not making a mess of your life. You are the one doing it.

Knowingly or unknowingly, you complicate your life by carrying extra luggage of unnecessary emotions with you. You give so much importance to these unwanted emotions that it often makes you moody, depressed, frustrated, and sad.

You often blame your ill luck for the complications in your life, don’t you?

Your ill luck has nothing to do with the complications you face. It is the way you live your life that makes it very complicated and problematic.

Forgo these habits which complicate your life.

1. Having great expectations

Great expectations about your life lead to great disappointments. You want everything to happen according to your expectations. Often your expectations are unrealistic and unrealizable.

True to life, your unrealistic expectations is often not met. When your expectations are dashed to the ground, you term your life as one big failure.

Your expectations at your work place

You expect your colleagues to behave amicably with you. You want instant promotion. You want your boss to appreciate your work.

But, you are disappointed because the opposite of your expectation happens in your workplace.

Your boss is nasty.

You have to endure the bullying of your higher officials\colleagues.

You are persistently denied your promotion.

This makes you feel downcast and disheartened with your work.

In family life also, you have unrealistic expectations.

You want your children to be your Xerox copy- It never happens.

You want your children to obey your commands – They are very independent.

You want to decide the life of your children – They want to live their life according to their wish.

Your relationship with your spouse is often complicated and confrontational.

You want to change your spouse according to your liking- Your spouse never changes.

You expect your married life to be carefree and fun – But it is full of responsibilities and commitments.

Can you see how most of your expectations backfires making you feel miserable?

So, having fewer expectations is always better. Having no expectations is even better. It makes it easier for you to live it, as you do not complicate life.

2. Comparing your life with others

Comparison is the worst way of complicating your life.

You persistently compare your life with others.

Has your colleague\friend\relative bought a big car?

You immediately compare their big luxurious car with the smaller one you have. You feel let down and unhappy that your car is not as big and luxurious as theirs.

The happiness you felt when you bought your car just a few months ago ends immediately.

You compare your home with others. You feel it is not as big as your colleague’s\friend’s\relative’s.

You compare your spouse with others. You feel he\she is not as successful as they are.

You compare your children with that of your friend’s\relative’s. You feel their children are far more intelligent than yours.

Your list of comparison is endless.

When you compare yourself with others, you lose sight of the good things you have in your life. Such unnecessary comparisons ruin your happiness and well-being. It only makes you feel that your life is very lagging and very lacking.

Satisfaction in what you have is the best way to forgo complications in your life.

3. Being jealous

Jealousy causes intense mental torture and agony in you. It complicates your life in a very negative way.

Why do you feel jealous of others?

When you are overawed by others, you envy them. You feel depressed when you overestimate your friends\colleagues\relatives. You are jealous that you are no match to them.

You often envy the outer show of wealth of your friend’s\ colleague’s.

Do not be so.

The affluence of others is not a yardstick to judge your life. Acknowledge the good things you are blessed with. If you do so, you will feel content and happy.

When you stop feeling jealous of others, your life becomes less complicated.

4. Procrastinating your work

Procrastinating your work invariably leads to many complications in your life.

Delaying your work, delays your success.

When you procrastinate, you become static. When your work is static, your success becomes a question mark.

Why do you procrastinate your work?

Fear of failure and defeat makes you procrastinate your work. By delaying, you are actually extending your agony. So, do your work without delay.

Never procrastinate your work. Delayed work means missed opportunities. Missed opportunities is denied success.

Denied success is yet another negative way of complicating your life.

5. Assuming the worst for yourself

Living your life based on your negative assumptions complicate your life.

Your assumptions are mostly pessimistic as you feel your present failure would continue throughout your life.

You have self-assumed fear about your future.

You assume your life would remain hopeless and unworthy.

You assume that your problems would never go away.

These are all wrong way of living your life.

Do not live your life on your imaginary assumption. Live your life as it comes. It makes your life less complicated and less stressed.

6. Having a low opinion of yourself

When you do not like yourself, it leads to many complications in your life.

So never ever, degrade yourself. Do not think that you are worthless. Do not be overawed by the success of others and feel you cannot achieve it.

Do not set very high goals for yourself. It complicates your life.

Set small goals and work hard to achieve it. Think that you are worthy and commendable.
